Swan Lake Montana lodging, dining and event venue.

Dining out should not be a timed event...

Here at the Horse, we embrace a relaxed dining sensibility, allowing you to dine at your pace without pushing to turn tables. We accept dining reservations every 15 minutes from 5pm to 7:30pm for parties of 1 to 6 persons with only 32 diners per evening. Your table is yours for the evening, no rush – unless you want to get back out on the lake to enjoy a Montana summer sunset! The dining garden is open Wednesday – Sunday, and in the event of rain, we will call to confirm that you still wish to dine with us in the dining room. We recommend reservations be made at least one week in advance.

Do you have a large party? Groups of 8 to 36 are welcome to contact Chef Kate and arrange a private dinner in the garden on Mondays or Tuesdays. Private Sunday brunches are also available for groups of 16 to 24 persons.

To make your dining reservations or schedule a private event at the Horse, please call Kathleen at 406-886-2080.

Whether your idea of vacation adventure is bagging a mountain peak, laying a fly on the backside of an eddy, riding a rugged trail on horseback, or sipping a Pinot in the garden with a good book at sunset, the Horse IS your Montana dream destination. Won’t you join us?

Open May thru October, Laughing Horse Lodge is nestled at the base of the Swan Range and the Bob Marshall Wilderness, at the southern end of Swan Lake. We are conveniently located between Missoula and Kalispell, providing a perfect base for three-season outdoor adventure in Glacier Country. Air travelers fly into Kalispell’s Glacier International Airport, located 35 miles from the Lodge, or into Missoula – a beautiful 2 hour drive from the Lodge.

Your Montana adventure begins at the Horse!

Hiking, mountain biking or horse back riding the Swan and Mission Mountain ranges will be major highlights of your stay. Bring a camera  to the meadows of Lost Creek and be ready for black bear and grizzly, or head to Bond Creek to photograph mountain goats. At the Oxbow Reserve see moose or a family of white tail deer. And of course, there’s always Glacier National Park just a short drive away.
